Outdoor & Indoor Military Flag Options
Every branch collection includes multiple materials and finishes so you can match your flag to the environment:
- Outdoor nylon military flags: Lightweight, bright, and quick-drying. Great all-around choice for most homes, storefronts, schools, and lower-wind locations.
- Heavy-duty 2-ply polyester: Designed for windy, coastal, and base environments where flags face constant motion and weather.
- Indoor & presentation sets: Pole-sleeve flags with optional gold fringe, paired with an indoor pole, stand, and ornament for churches, government buildings, council chambers, auditoriums, and veteran halls.
- Mini & smaller flags: Ideal for desktops, offices, classrooms, displays, and special events honoring service members and veterans.
All of our U.S. military flags are finished with durable stitching and reinforced headings. Select models carry FMAA certification and official licensing or government-spec designs, so you know you’re displaying a flag that meets the standards of the service it represents.

FAQs About U.S. Military Flags
Which material is best for military flags—nylon or polyester?
For most everyday displays, outdoor nylon military flags are an excellent all-around choice—lightweight, bright, and easy to fly. If your location is consistently windy or exposed (coastal, hilltop, open field, or base perimeter), a heavy-duty 2-ply polyester flag will usually last longer.
What size military flag should I fly on a 20-ft pole?
A 3′ × 5′ flag is standard for a 20-ft flagpole across all branches. If you want more presence and your pole is rated for it, you can move up to a 4′ × 6′ flag.
Can I fly a branch flag on the same pole as the American flag?
Yes, but the U.S. flag should always be in the position of honor (at the peak or higher than other flags). When flying a military service flag on the same pole, choose the branch flag one size smaller than your American flag (for example, 3′ × 5′ Army flag with a 4′ × 6′ U.S. flag) for proper proportion.
Do indoor military flags need gold fringe?
Gold fringe is optional. Many churches, government buildings, schools, and veteran halls prefer pole-sleeve flags with gold fringe for ceremonies and formal presentation sets, but a non-fringed indoor flag is also acceptable for less formal spaces.
Can you help with bulk, tax-exempt, or institutional orders?
Yes. We regularly supply military flags for schools, cities, churches, posts, and government agencies. If you need bulk pricing, tax-exempt purchasing, or help sizing multiple poles across a property, please contact our flag experts for a custom quote and recommendations.
